Cool Zoo Tycoon 2 Trick!

I found a cool Zoo Tycoon 2 trick on the Bay12 Forums (specifically, this old LP). Thanks to Enemy post for this idea!

If you save the game, it shows a clean still image of your current zoo while it saves; same with The Sims 2, and some other games. You can take a screenshot of the still image! I don't know if it requires clicking outside the window and then pressing the PrintScreen key.

This is a great way to get an overhead view of your zoo. In other games, it's a bit less useful as you can get any view with your normal camera, but in Zoo Tycoon 2 the camera only works in first-person view, so it's not easy to grab an overhead shot.

What I normally did to get an overhead view screenshot is press the C key to open the camera, and just before it drops to the ground view, I'd press the Spacebar to take a photo.

I'll certainly be using the Save trick from now on, especially since saving is always a good habit to practice for this game due to the occasional crash. I also usually Save as a different file instead of save normally, otherwise the zoo terraforming gets corrupted and certain areas get blocked, preventing you from putting anything there.
